Cover Songs & Remakes – The Cure Edition

Some of you younger kids out there might not know this band very well and that is just sad for you!  However, I can guarantee that though you might not recognize them straight off you have heard some of their stuff…or at least one of them.  Does “Friday I’m in Love” ring a bell?  The Cure is one of the rare bands that had a wonderful distinct sound along with some beautifully crafted lyrics.  Well, this band is completely incredible so much so that South Park creators paid tribute to Robert Smith by having him defeat Barbra Streisand!  Now, to be fair, some of these covers I can’t really catch the hook since I am a ridiculously pure to the originals but I have to give them props for having the balls to put their own spin on them.

Foxy Lady – Original by Jimi Hendrix (1967)

Hello, I Love You – Original by The Doors (1968)

World In My Eyes – Original by Depeche Mode (1990)

Love Will Tear Us Apart – Original by Joy Division (1980)

You Really Got Me (live only) – Original by The Kinks (1964)
